Fine drawings in charcoal & print.
My drawings are inspired by the dignity and resilience of nature.
With the bird drawings, my starting point is to convey something of their strength and beauty and to remind us of their place in our world. At a time when the very existence of the natural environment is challenged, the drawings act as a record of nature's presence.
.
The drawings are made with charcoal and drawn on heavy hot pressed watercolour paper.
New artwork and print editions are being made all the time and will appear in the gallery pages of this site. Please stay informed by subscribing to my occasional Studio Newsletter.

I am an illustrator and artist, working full-time and living on the Kent coast in Herne Bay.
My career as an illustrator extends over two decades and I have been fortunate to work with some of the UK’s most respected children’s book authors. My illustration work has also appeared in editorial and advertising as well as design for shop windows and store fronts.
Trained as a painter, with a BA Hons degree in fine art, I studied MA illustration and sequential design at the University of Brighton. I have worked as a freelance illustrator ever since.
I am always drawn back to the roots of drawing. Drawing forms the basis and starting point of all my creative endeavours. Working in charcoal is immediate and fluid and a joy to make marks with. The birds are not only representations of a love of nature but also a fascination with drawing itself.
